On the last day of our vacation, when we couldn't sit on the beach all day, we went out after breakfast to get a few last photos. This painting was based on one of those photos...the morning light sparkled on the water, and the waves were calm, casting their own shadows, but backlit where they were raised in swells before they broke. It was calm and beautiful...just the image and the feeling I wanted to take home with me!
